Medium body with a nutty, chocolatey flavor. The Popayan is the best from the Cuaca region offering a complexity not seen in the standard Colombians.

SKU: Colo Narino Categories: ,

Medium body with cherry, apple, vanilla, caramel and coffee candy. 2017 crop.
Our Colombia Narino Excelso coffee comes from small family owned farms in the growing region in the department of Nariño, Colombia. The main harvest is between April to August, and the “mitaca” harvest is between December and February. Small coffee producers pick and process their coffee at their own micro-wet mills and then dry their own coffee, typically on elevated tables inside solar dryers that provide protection from the rain.

I brewed this bean at 174 degrees with a pour-over. The grind is nutty and slightly sweet with notes of acidity–very exciting. During the brew, the nose is a bit smokier, more full and the sip is a lot more delicate than I had expected. It’s a dry coffee, and very well-rounded.
